Hello Clive

Looks like a model of the Fast Yacht "Mercury". A 'one off ' built for an Italian. This was later to become "Brave Challenger" and can still be seen at Gun Wharf Portsmouth (can also be seen at Google Earth - next to HMS Warrior)

In the 1938 Navy Estimates the details relating to M.T.B's was ~

M.T.B No. 101 (the Boat of special design ordered under the 1936 programme from Messrs. J. S. White and co., of Cowes), 36,760.

M.T.B No. 102 (Messrs. Vosper Ltd., Portsmouth) 22,529.

No help i know but i just thought id add it for curiosty value.
