I beleive that getting MGB 81 coded for charter to carry passengers is much more difficult than it has been with 102.

Its fab that HSL102 can now be used and shared with the public at large.
 
It would be a shame if the nanny state prevents the same with MGB81.
 
When you think we've got MTB102, HSL102, MGB81, Medusa and some others being maintained and preserved I think that a pretty good score!

Ah, yes heard that she would need guard rails or something but lets hope she can get through, indeed I could not agree more, fine examples of our coastal forces.

Personally I always though MGB 81 looked a bit "naked", handrails and some armament would look pretty good!

On BBC's Timeshift series they showed the Canberra leaving for the Falklands in 1982 with the restored HSL 102 in attendance. That would have been impossible as HSL 102 had not yet been restored, I imagine the footage was actually of Canberra leaving for the breakers in 1997, the footage is here;

Just seen post ex SS Shieldhall of Southampton on Face book HSL 102 at speed going past her, quite a site as ever, may see her at mooring in August as family trip for a birthday event to Portsmouth then...
