Hi there,
Just to say there is a piece on MASB 27 in May issue of the Coastal Forces Heritage Trust magazine, can be viewed/downloaded via link on this site....also great piece on the raid on St Nazaire and the loss of the 10th Canadian flotilla at Ostend, 28th April also saw the anniversary of operation Tiger. Evening gents,
Plenty been going on below decks. I made and fitted the exhaust pipes for some moral support (makes it look like we're getting somewhere!) I will get a video diary of below decks up soon. |

Hi there,
Many thanks for the update on 27, indeed, what an effort there! you really are going for it...saw the business on the harbour and the baby in the buggy going over the side! nothing to do with you of course....not sure why I mentioned it! but any way, really, I go to Bristol to see the Medway Queen paddler, you would not be far....so perhaps I can arrange something in due course..., to see her and 2552, joining MTB102, HDML Medusa I think is great, Johnk

Almost forgot, there is a nice 3 page spread on her in the latest issue of Warships magazine! Which includes some wartime shots of her and some very interesting history!

A brief update on the old girl!
Shes been alongside Gay Archer since her arrival. All the reminance of the houseboat are now gone (there was a lot) and the refit below decks is well under way. A complete set of longitudinal engine bearers is due to arrive in a few weeks as the original ones were removed in the 80's. My brother and I have been across the country searching for hardware from various mud filled "hulks" (the lengths you have to go to eh?). I am in desperate need of P brackets (shaft struts) and rudders (3 of each) if anyone knows where some are gathering dust please let me know! She is due to come out of the water sometime in spring once the new bulkheads and engine bearers are fitted. |
