Well, Ive read the book and apart from Chapter 10 found it interesting but where on earth did the idea of a British assasin come from? It was Eisenhowers original idea to move the whole operation of Anvil  round to the North not Churchill's, he only agreed with him and made the approach to Roosavelt who as we know, turned it down. IF he was killed I would have looked at enemy operations in the area, they were very clever you know!!. The British may have had a few niggles with the yanks but an SOE Assasin

NO way!!

Julie-

I am glad you enjoyed the book- thank you for reading it.

With regards to Chapter 10, it only relects my opinion- which I am very willing to change if some evidence comes up. No doubt there were real tensions betwen Allies, Moon and his Staff, Moon and his superiors.I was swayed by the telegrams in the Churchill Archives , and my opinion is that Moon would have resisted any attempt to cancel the Invasion. I don't doubt that the Germans in the Naples area were very clever, as you say- could they have done it? Maybe. And maybe a German reader will someday bring forth any pertinant documents.

Hopefully, one reader somewhere will have new evidence, one way or another as to what happened. I sent a book copy to my agent in the Philippines, as she will have a newspaper publish a review- I still think the steward Santos is living, and maybe the review will bring this witness forth.

Thanks again, and regards.

Jonathan
