Hi there,

This boat is mentioned in 2007 as "ex Admirality Fast Launch" here in this forum.
Can anyone tell me what kind of boat it actually is -or better- was?
She is a 45 footer, has very much similarities with a 1938 Vosper Royal Barge but is 5 foot longer.
As far as the story tells, she was owned by Jean Elisabeth Fox in the SSR as "Shere Khan" no. 21931.
Converted to a yacht in begin '50s I think her roof and doubled superstructure leaked from day one.
At this moment I am trying to save her from Dr. Chainsaw by repairing a square meter of diagonal wood under the chine on portside at the bow before she went in the water and taking off al the non-original and rotten parts of the superstructure, including the davits.
In front of the superstructure there is an open cocpit made of brass which was covered with wood. some areas are doubled inside with a very thick kind of wood, like it had to be kind of "bullet proof".
There seem to be a remain of a third "P" bracket so it appears to be a triple engined boat but she has now 2 modern Lancing Marine Ford Diesels of 150 Hp each, giving he an easy 18 knot speed when still soaked with water and full with rubbish with only one Turbocharger working properly.
While we are working on her, she has risen about 4 inches allready, because of the rubbish taken out and because she is drying now.
I hope to find a carved number in the engine room or somewhere else but the hull shape looks typical pre-1944 Vosper, but offcourse it would be great if someone recognises this kind of interesting boat!

Kind regards, Adriaan (bruynzeel4boats@hotmail.com)
