Hello,

Since my last post in The Trust under Boat Share, a friend of mine contacted me with an Idea. As I am looking to refinance 2751 to effectively rebuild her and return her to original external condition and performance. Why not ask the membership of this forum if they would be interested in a boat share idea for 2751?

I have read through all of the many boat share ideas on the forum and they seem to stumble at the point of selection and initial purchace of a boat. In this case the problem is solved.

It also makes sense to me to join with like minded souls rather than a faceless institution or mortgage company and there is probably expertese out there that can be used on 2751.

I would propose that 10/12 equal shares be sold, price to be discussed, that will raise funds to refurbish and re-engine 2751. Ofcourse the value of the shares will go up as work on the boat progresses and the value increases. Also members may wish to crew her on charter days if they are qualified.

Members would have days of exclusive access to her with friends and family to travel where ever they wish. Any assistance with maintenance would decrease overall costs and therefore benefit the whole group.

She would also be placed on the charter market to raise further funds for ongoing maintenance.

So, I thought I would place this here to see what you all think.

RTTL 2751 is now in situ at The Sussex Yacht Club, Shoreham, Sussex on a mud birth where she is soon to come ashore. It is a private members club with a public access car park next to the boat.

Should any members of the forum be in the area and I am aboard feel free to knock on the side and have a look around.

Cheers

Hi Colin
2751 is still at Sussex Yacht Club Shoreham, just been sold after a long legal battle with the insurance company by the owner. It is being worked on at the moment to convert it. By the time the new owner has finished it will look nothing like it did before.

Hiya
I am the new owner of 2751 aka Phoenix 2751
I purchased her a month ago after the previous owner basiclly sold every bit of metal he could rip of her for scrap as he lied about many things and had no intention on fixing her! ;"( as was and seems his style! She s in a sad state of affairs! She will rise again though as her name denotes from the ashes she has been left in!
And alas I will change her slightly from how she is now! Sorry guys I cant afford that or the those fuel bills
She has no superstructure so will remain almost flat decked I have 50sqm of teak for her deck so far and another 45' dbl diag mahogany hull given to me by my closemate !!
I will be chopping her stern as the fools destroyed her there also and the club broke her props thru the stern when she was left near a hard slip and the tide went out ! Allegedly as dont wanna dig that up haha
So she become a dbl ender and will get a jet drive from a 86' research vessel put in which has also been given to me by a colleague! Thatll be run by an electric motor powered thru gel batteries and charged solarlly and wind turbines!
Also for cruising shell be fitted with power kites to get that hull speed up to her orignal specs! Its all possible on the money I have!
She will be adapted for power kites as per current tech which I am in the process ofresearching with some of the world leaders who are keen to help!
Love it that this forum is here qnd for me jst wanna see a buet of a ole gurl go back in the waterand fly haha literally!
Colin you and alll past crew will be welcome on her whenever you like and I will be in touch with you as dad ws raf and belive he might have stood on her when you guys took him on leave !! Alas hes gone now but would love it even if it wasnt the exact one !!
Ile be in touch and will strt a post and pics and will forward all info I hqve on all of them as am currently awaiting a knee op so hve spent a month in librrie on the net and on the phone!!
Wtch this space I will do her proud! Promise
Qnd marines dont break promises
Escuse typos plz big bnanna thumbs on a phone as cant sleep and found your amazing forum! Wouldnt normally join one but thought I had to as you guys re all cool hqve n affinity with hour integritty and justice ;")
Hope I havnt upset anyone with my intentions but I just wanna hit the med and enjoy rideing siling flying her as she deserves!
X
Stuart

Hi chaps.

I am rebuilding a model my brother built in 1960 when he was 16. I brought it home to fit a new motor in it 4 years ago. However, he doesn't know that I stripped it bare the day after I brought it home and have been rebuilding it ever since. I need some info on certain parts and would appreciate it if anyone here can help. I have spent mega hours researching every part of the boat and have had help along the way from various people. After 4 years and about 400 hours work so far, i am nearing completion and have committed myself to presenting the finished boat in April as a surprise. If someone can reply to this I will provide more details of my specific needs.  Thanks.

P.S. I am totally addicted to this project, hook, line and sinker, @%&^*#grrrrrrr!!!!, lol. To make matters worse, I am an engineering patternmaker by trade.

Hi there,

if anybody is interested, it was me that bought Phoenix from the RAF for £4000 and did the interior conversion.

If anybody would like to know more, please feel free to make contact!
