Bold Pioneer (ex MTB5701 )is seen at speed on this newsreel clip shot by Pathe in 1953. Her number P5701 is just discernible and this enabled me to identify her.

This is for me a historic event !
As a 12 years old boy I was interrested in drawing ships.
In 1952-53, I made an ink drawing of a torpedo boat with P5701 painted on the hull !
And now I discovered the name too (Bold Pioneer)
Thanks for the memories !

Hi there,

Indeed, great to be able to give people such info....got aboard a forerunner of the Bold class on Monday, was in the port of Watchet and meet Paul Childs owner and restorer of HMS Gay Archer, heard about his and his sons plans for Watchet Warships, see What's New on the home page of this site, very interesting, commend to all with an interest and work with our CF vessels.
