German Lifeboat Theodore Heuss

Hi all,

Newbie here, great forum, this is my model that i inherited from my father who passed it to me, it laid in the loft with only the cabin part finished and some of the mechanical innards there, i completed the rest of the boat and it all worked, rough and noisy though, when it was put in the water it went along fine but not enough for me, i found that the props were working agains't themselves, i believe the pitches were all wrong and have found it difficult to get replacements, i haven't touched the boat for about 6 yrs due to family commitments which is a shame as i wanted to put a new motor in it and up grade some of the parts inside, anybody else familiar with this boat, internal photos would be useful, thanks.

  Nice boat, bit small as I prefer 1/16 scale myself, but as for motors try Model Motors Direct, phone 01747-812440, and the Prop Shop for Prop`s Phone 01259-270461.

Thankyou Donald you are indeed correct in what you say and i found that only certain glues work with the poly hull, that must of been a great experience going out on the sister ship! i think its a beautiful looking vessel and i now seem to be finding myself much more  interested in everything thats older, everything has more character!!!

Thankyou E.S, i was given the boat and so far its been my only build and at 39 inches long and with quite complicated inner workings, being a novice i found it plenty big enough for me, and costly enough having had to buy all new remote control equipment for both vessels,I will in time try the numbers you have given me to get the parts i need.

i built one of these boats years ago the motors i used were navy
kompacts 6v these gave a good turn of speed and seems to give the model a nice sound didnt need diesel sound as it moved through the i
used on controller on middle motor  the two others on a single feed
great to start with single motor then bring in the other motors and it
used to fly hope this helps
