Hi guys

Has anyone got any photos of MTB 259 (formerly PT-10), I am looking at this as my next project but can only find info on her as PT-10. I am really looking for any major changes and revised naval clour scheme.

Mike

Hi Mike,

Did U get any info on MTB 259 ?

It seems it was not in the RON1 or RON2 it seems 259 to 268 are not mentioned in many places.

We have a letter from one of the crew but it is censored , seems he died in mid 1942

Hi Mike,

Yes seems it was lost between Malta and Alexandria.

Lots of stories about these type of boats but 259 to 268 seem to be a bit of a mystery.

I am finding it hard to sort out fact from the great bulk of fiction about such things as "the gold monkey story" and McHales Navy.

I guess you will have seen :-

I suppose operations were secret but I will dig further.

Cheers

Dear Mike,

Did you ever find the photos of 259? If you're interested I have four photos taken by my father of 259 at HMS Mosquito, Alexandria. The caption on one says it was sunk on the way to Malta in June '42. It was commanded by a Lt. Allan.

Cheers
