Hi All

Popped down to Dauntless Boatyard in Canvey Island today, I was looking around after taking some pics of a mates boat and found RTTL 2745 (assuming the number was correct of course)!

Shes in a pretty sad state, looks like her back is broken, rather surprising is that the superstructure looks pretty original. Pics below, I also took some pics of what looks like a seaplane tender, I'll post these on the seaplane section.

Hello Barncle!

Thanks for the link, if I had thought to look on my own bookmarks list I would have found it!!

Very nice site you have, feel free to use those pics, I have some others, I think you should be able to access my other photobucket albums by clicking on the pic and following the "image info". Use any of the boat pics you like.

Mark

Hello Mark

I think I must point out here that the site i linked to is not my site... it belongs to the ASR/MCS website.

Hi Marksaab
I was notified that you sent me a private message but I am denied access to it for some reason. It is the first time I have received a message so perhaps I am doing something wrong. There does not seem to be provision to "sign in" to the forum now that I am a member, but there must be!
I will try again tomorrow to see your message.
Cheers
Brian

Hello Brian
You have to be 'Signed In' to read Private Messages. The 'automatic' e-mail you receive from the web site is really just notification that you have a mail - by clicking the URL in the e-mail will not open the mail if you are not 'Signed In'.

Smile I spent two happy years on 2745 when she was at 1100 MCU Alness from 1955 to 1957. Steve Wood and I were two lucky National Servicemen to be sent to Alness as untrained Motor BoatCrew. Fifty five years later Steve and I are both living in Cornwall and we work together as drivers for the local BMW dealership. I am also in touch with Brian Mutton who was a fitter on 2745 and Mike Moore who was a radio operator. It was such a happy time and we would love to hear from any other old mates of that time. Brian Mutton who lives in Queensland now, is in the process of publishing a book of his Marine Craft experiences. ex LAC Pete Ramsey.
