I have come across a couple of images of the the Brave class which claim to be of P1011( BRAVE BORDERER) &P1012 in close formation during trials. Can anybody confirm the identities/name of the second craft and also an explanation for the difference in superstructure

Hello Pete, I am told that both boats were bought after their RN Service by Mr Hayden Baily - Brave Swordsman was first thought to be secure in a private museum but owing to the very poor condition of the Hull etc the owner decided to use them as part of a 'spares pool' for his Fast Yacht 'Brave Challenger' (ex Mercury), both vessels being 'broken' (by Messrs Pounds of Portsmouth, it is believed). The 'spares pool' also received parts from the purchase of the ex German/Hellenic Navy craft - "Strahl" and "Pfiel" (export Vosper 'Brave' and 'Ferocity' class). Sadly the opportunity to preserve a truely unique and classic craft was lost. Regards Ted |

Hi All. I could be wrong but I have aquired a 1: 24 Percassa Which I am going to convert to Brave Borderer. So after doing some reserch into both boats I believe that the boat on the starboard sode is a Percassa as built for the Danish Navy These boats had a wheel house built in front of and below the bridge also the exhausts were across the centre of the transom that is between the waterline and deck wheras the gas turbine braves had the exhausts just below the deck.
