I have found some old photos of boats that my late grandfather was involved with as part of ASR in WW2. I was wondering if anyone had any information on the type of boats these were or where to find out more information. I am not sure on his military history as of yet but he was in Gibraltar for a time. Thanks

Hi
I'm sure you'll get lots of replies to these great photos! '007' is a Fairmile 'D' LRRC (Long Range Rescue Craft).....I have a photo which I will try to attach to this email (?) with LRRC based in Newlyn, Cornwall during WW2. I've seen '007' frequently used as a basis for an R/C model....makes a great model! If I'm not mistaken, the other photo is of a Thornycroft ASR Launch....nice boats.
