Hi all,

Going to take the plunge on this one, appreciate not a coastal forces craft but..they are trying to save her and have launched an appeal, appreciate also monies needed for "our" craft but I put this up and if you would like to support fine, if not, also fine! go to  www.hmsplymouth.co.uk
then on to the message board and then on to strand titled help save hms plymouth. If this deleted, no problem, quite understand, no intention of causing problem or offence.

Hello Johnk, went into your place in the  1950's on the "Eastbourne" when the Sonar wouldn't retract.

Hi Tramontana,

Many thanks the above, take it you refer to Chatham!, have you been back since? much of course changed to say the least! we have some shots from above taken just as the yard closed and that really brings home the changes, more than twenty years ago now. Quiet a blow when the yard closed, along with the Grain refinery, now a container port. Lived her since 1972 so and was a sea cadet in the Pembroke barracks, now a university campus.
