Hi- I just came across this forum by accident. I'm sure this is already known, but there is a Fairmile in Athens which has been converted to a small tour boat. When I lived there in 1994 I considered buying it, but my lack of sailing experience and common sense got the best of me. It had about 9-10 small berths, a small sitting room and galley, plus room for a crew of 3. Owner told me the original engines had been removed and replaced with Peugeot diesels. He said a number of Fairmiles had been given to the Greeks after the war as part of a reconstruction effort and most ended up in the hands of smugglers. Not sure how much of the story is true. I did a Google search, and sure enough the same boat is still in Athens and still for sale.

Hi Paul,

Many thanks for the links, interesting, says steel re-inforced ribs.....would think that was a later addition, as I believe they were all wooden hulls when built, thanks again,
