There is an interesting boat on the Holland Boat site, a 42ft M.O.D. designed trawler called "Talula" made out of fibreglass in 1972.

The HDML is called Rodos, she is ex ML 1051 (info from Phil Simons). She lives closeby in Puerto Deportivo de Estepona. Good luck to them on her sale, seems a little steep to me (I know the engineer who worked on her a few years back, in his opinion she's not anything like as good as Gibel-Tarik).

p.s. Lewina has just been broken up, info from Alan Watson.

Hi Christian,

Sorry to read that Lewina has gone for breaking, very sad, I saw from the pics earlier that the owner had re-jigged the top to look like a HDML again, but clearly the hull needed the attention, what a shame. Of course we had Medusa coming along very nicely, can't wait as I am sure Alan and the team also, to see her up and running, already "booked" them for a visit to Chatham, as she did mines sweeping on the Medway during the war, good news on 506, must go, work calls,

John

I'm not sure if she has or not yet, the owners son is dealing with her and I managed to speak to his sister yesterday and she knew nothing about her being broken up so she may still be alive and kicking, I said I'd ring back tonight, may ring the yard later, they'll know!

Short of Medusa when she's done I think Gibel-Tarik is probably the best out there, out of my price range unfortunatley, looks great though (mind you so does/did Lewina but that apparantly was just paint (I tried to go to have a look, maybe within the next couple of weeks the owners son will be free))

Gibel-Tarik is a bargain, I have seen her, when you look at the prices some people are asking it makes you wonder what they are smoking
