This is getting ridiculous! there are only 2 things i can think of that arent taxed, i wont mention them in case our good chancellor(wasnt hitler chancellor as well) is listening.

Of the few surviving boats you have to wander how many will end up simply dumped because new owners are put off by running costs. know it wont count for 506, 102 ect.

Somehow i can see all these boats smelling like chip shops as they fly past the fibreglass tubs.

Europe, treaties....Cant we call harold wilson a traitor for signing up & get back to being British? Better not get started on Europe, it winds me up

A boat is a hole in the water surrounded by wood, into which one throws money

Sorry but am, I the only one that thinks the Government of this Country is not

"of the people by the people for the people",

but rather of the people for the tony by the tony.

The Government a couple of years ago spent a lot of time and money producing a report that has rubbished our Maritime Heritage and the National collection of Historic Ships and has decided that it can be left to private owners and the National Lottery, which of course is being plundered for the olympic over spend during the next 6 years anyway.

It makes me so angry!!!!!

Shame you can't get your boats to Egypt to fill up on fuel- I've heard it's still about 6p a litre over there! A lot of boaters head from here to Egypt to top up before either going through to the Red Sea or up the length of the Med.
Might have to look at the feasibility of running Transmare on Biodisel.
On the topic of costs per hour to run- a boat not to far away from ours costs about 180 cyp pounds per hour... seriously under powered engines in a way too heavy boat!!! And our fuel price is about 58 cents per litre...
