Hi All,

I have just had a friend in at my work, advises there is a 50 year old, diesel, aluminium block, ex minesweeper engine in a local scrap yard, has a 48 hour stay of execution, one already chopped, details from veloii@hotmail.co.uk if any interest, as is, where is, as lies, buyer collects, costs discuss with the yard, just thought worth a punt.....

Good morning John,
I suspect the engine came from the minesweeper that is being broken up in Port Medway, near Rochester. The boat was bought by a scrap dealer who has removed most of the bits now. He is a reasonable chap and was selling bits at little more than their scrap value. I bought several brass switches and light fittings and the binnacle from him.

Good evening John,
Yes, the minesweeper was moored by the historic dockyard for some time. I heard the owner was in poor health and so sold her. I will post a picture soon of Blue Peter . I am pleased with the progress so far, I have been concentrating on the exterior since the weather perked up and have nearly finished the starboard side.
