For those of you with nothing to do on the 8th and 9th of September, MTB102 will be alongside at Gt Yarmouth Maritime Festival. It's a great free event so why not come along and enjoy the atmosphere and see 102 as well.

Just a reminder that next weekend 102 will be off to sea again for an epic jouirney to Gt Yarmouth and all the delights that Yarmouth has to offer. My magic throttle fingers are getting itchy so something will have to happen soon. Come and make yourselves known to us there and see a real live fighting boat.

And for those willing to put some money 102s way a look around our yard will come your way, you can then get a personal heads up on MASB 32 and what we will be doing to her and what is really involved in repairing on of these fine vessels.

Hello all,

Just got home from the latest voyage of MTB 102 the journey from Lowestoft to Yarmouth. the sea was calm as it gets so no crashing about but a fun voyage on the dash up to the maritime festival. If you are able to get to Yarmouth the locals recon it is a busy good day (or two) plus it is free and you will get to see '102 as well as other boats.

Go and put some money in the tin for 102 and if you ever get the chance go to sea in her, well worth a trip.

masbie something in the water.   www.freewebs.com/masb32/

Hi Clive,

Well, you are lucky, wish I could be there to see her but working this weekend, indeed it is a great oppertunity to get to sail aboard her as I did last year from GY to Lowestoft! really should have booked the time off as it is looking like a good weekend weather wise as opposed to Brightlingsea when I last saw her! great shots by the way of 32 on the slip.

The final event for 102 this year at Gt Yarmouth went very well. 102 behaved perfectly although she needs her bottom cleaning. The weed takes about five knots off the top speed. They must have slipped these boats at least monthly when they were used seriously.

The weather was great, there were hundreds of visitors and the beer festival at the Mariners was good as well. RAF1380 was in attendance as well as Smit Spey, the present day version, and a mean looking Customs boat, Vigilant. We even get on well with her crew!

An excellent event for boat people of all kinds.

Just have to see if we can slip you in so to speak Richard, what with MASB32 and Spitfire both needing some TLC we are going to be busy for the next few months or so. Glad we kept on top of 102  with those yearly slipping and paint jobs there should be no horrors lurking below her waterline.

MTB102 was slipped last Friday (14th) and is undergoing slight repairs to the port side chine rubber and one plank underside. While Wizard and his magic men are doing this the 102 crew have a few days to sand the complete boat, carry out a full paint job and antifoul. Keep an eye on the pictures on Newsons web site. Note how tight the planks stay on a well maintained vessel which is remarkable considering some of the seas she has had to cope with. Also for the diesel heads amongst you there is a pic of the two 600hp 10ltr Cummins.

Richard.
