John Lambert has produced a wide range of drawings of smaller craft, weapons, and general equipment of the RN, including many ship's boats. His work is currently being published by Seaforth Publishing with two volumes available and a third volume planned for a 2020 release.

I've written to the publisher if the drawings of the ship's boats would be included in the third volume; apparently this was not the case but they certainly showed interest for a possible fourth volume. They also argued that such a volume would need a proper introduction by an expert. I've done some advanced scouting and either contacting Boathouse No.4 in Portsmouth or the BMPT would seem to be a very good starting point. I'm hoping anyone on this board can assist me in convincing Seaforth to go forward with publishing a volume on ship's boats.

As well as an introduction, presumably someone would need to write to book as well? The current series that Seaforth have is dedicated to Coastal Forces - are you suggesting a volume on ship's boats only and, if so, would it purely be Coastal Forces dinghies (of which there can only be a few) or wider RN ship's boats? And what period?

This volume would gravitate around Mr Lambert's drawings of the ship's boats, most of which are from the WWII period. A combination of both sailing and motorized boats.

So really this would be a separate series to Allied Coastal Forces of WWII? Who would write it?
