Good day. I am researching the arrival of the main element of Force 135 which left Plymouth on 11 May 1945 and arrived in both Guernsey and Jersey on May 12 as part of Operation Nestegg and the German surrender of the Channel Islands. The US Navy PT boat squadron 30 war diary confirms 4 Higgins PTs sailing with "British craft Grand Parade, Tardenois, Edinburgh and Oma." My research to date has uncovered these craft were all assigned to the RASC with Tardenois being a fast motor boat operated by 841 Water Transport Company; the Grand Parade was a high-speed launch (HSL) assigned to 571 Company (Motor Boat) RASC; the Edinburgh was a motor launch (ML) and the Oma was a Motor Fishing Vessel (MFV). I believe these two were also assigned to 517 Company. Does anyone have any information on these or even better pictures of them in service ?
