Hello,

I am just about to start painting the superstructure of my little ST.
I'd realy appreciate any advice on paints to use and correct colours.
I'm planning on using painted canvas roofs and decks.

Thanks
Don

Hiya Don

You must have been working hard these last couple of months to be at the painting stage-have you decided which period of her service life you want to reflect(i.e pre-war,early wartime, late wartime or post-war like Zeta and ST1502)?I think the authority on the subject is John Pritchard (or Donald Smith-I'll ask him,but I don't know how to get in touch with Mr Pritchard).

Regards,Christian.

Hi Christian,
Thanks for your advice with colours. We're redoing the superstructure sides in hardwood so it can be varnished.  I plan to paint canvas onto roof.  I believe this was the prewar colour scheme.

Should hull be black do you know?

What colour should decks be ( I am putting canvas down which I think original)?  The only other option is 'plastic' teak which I don't think would suit.

Does anyone know of another Seaplane Tender for sale or the whereabouts of ST 358?

Regards
Don
