Hello,

Just been looking at the shots of Gay Archer, magnificent I have to say, I do hope she will make it round the coast perhaps if going onto the thames, get in touch with me at Chatham Marina, and we can arrange a berth, I am sure with a bit of advance notice, we can try and get some publicity. Very well done, along with the work of others, its great to see these coastal forces vessels up and running again.

Hi everybody

Some up to date news on archer. She made it round from the Mersey to Watchet despite sea sickness amongst some of the crew as the first part of the journey was fairly rough, and despite green uns coming over the top she remained a very dry boat. on the journey it was found that the stbd engine was using more oil than it should. When the boat was finally berthed one cylinder was found to be very oily and when the piston was removed the oil control rings were found to be broken.

So she is now laying up in Watchet Marina, anf if you are nearby go and have a look she is easy to find as it is the only boat with a big cannon on the foredeck. Ted Childs Drum1.

Hello Again,

Just wondered if Paul would be interested in the P29 bit of the forum, my friends with what is in fact P22 as you will see, have done a remarkably similiare thing to Paul and his wife, though with a different type of vessel of course, I am sure at some stage, a meeting of these craft could be on the cards, perhaps with HDML Medusa, MTB 102 etc, though of course I do not speak for them, and the dreaded fuel costs etc will have to be sorted, though I hope berthing could be arranged.

Although the 'Archer has been advertised, as stated by d-zine, I am assured that at this precise time plans are not for it to be sold - a 'valuation exercise' maybe? - Here are two shots taken by Richard Hellyer just last Saturday 12 Aug 2006 - a very clean and tidy boat a huge credit to the hard work done by Paul Childs and his 'helpers'
