Hello,

Just seen shots of Gay Archer by Christian posted by Pathfinder, indeed very good, a quick glance and you would not tell the difference, but OK short one gun from navy days! but as I said, a magnificent achievment, must get to see her in the flesh one day.

Hello John

The 'then and now' shots were cleverly constructed by 'Christian' using Phil Simons classic shot of HMS Gay Archer at speed as a Gun Boat. The other shot is really a 'flipped' shot (Port side, not Stb'd) of Archer on the way down to Watchet Harbour - and as a 'Torpedo Boat' there would have been no Stern mounted Gun. (was tried but seen to be 'overloaded').

Nice views though I agree

Richard,

Ah, things clear now, of course she is rigged with torpedoe tubes, and indeed it would be a bit heavy with a gun on the stern as well, hoping to be in Ramsgate on Sunday to visit MTB 102 on the ADLS rally, bringing my friend who has P29/22 as well. All the best for now,

John
