It would be a good idea if we could record the where abouts of the Danish Braves as we already knowthat BRAVE STALLION is on the market, it may be that this ties in with another section in the forum.

For a starter I have the following images of the boats in service.

P510  Soloven

P511 Soridderen

P512 Sobjornen

P513 ?

P514 Sohunden

P515  Soulven

Here is the link for BRAVE STALLION

Hello D-Zine,

The name of Danish Brave P513 was 'Sohesten'. The first 2 (P510 -511) were built by Messrs Vosper at Portsmouth UK the remainder by 'The Royal Dockyard' Copenhagen. 'Christian's' Link above shows a great shot of their first build, P512 'Sobjornen' slipped. Beautiful lines I'm sure you will agree

Regards

HI Pioneer and Christian

I have just received in this mornings post a copy of

NAVAL FAST STRIKE CRAFT and PATROL BOATS By Roy McLeavy

(published Blandford Colour Series)

This book confirms the information on P513. It also states that Vosper  built similar vessels for the Libyan Navy (SUSA Class 3 Number) and the Malaysian Navy (PERKASA Class 4 Number) and ASTRAPI built for the FR German Navy but transfered to the Hellenic Navy.

Do we know of the where abouts of any of these vessels and are we interested re the lineage from the Royal Navy BRAVES.

Hello d-zine

Both of the Federal German Naval boats -then named 'Strahl' and 'Pfiel' - (the 'Brave' and 'Ferocity' types) - were sold to the Hellenic Navy. These were later purchased as a 'spares pool' for Brave Challenger (the ex-Fast Yacht 'Mercury') which at July 2006 can be occasionally seen at Gun Wharf Portsmouth UK.(see 'Brave Challenger' under Brave Class 'previous six months') Both Hulls were 'broken' I am informed.

Regarding the different Superstructure profiles - Brave Swordsman has the 'square' profile while Brave Borderer has the larger 'rounded' profile later adopted for the export versions and Scimitar class. These were the developing 'prototypes' of a class that were to be exported to several Nations as you rightly state

A little while ago our little lotto syndicate went in for a big euro rollover thingy. Briefly, for a few moments, I mused on what to do with a £30M win....  You know, give half away, new this / that - But I thought a speedboat like 'Mercury' would be nice. Should only cost a few million & would look nice by the villa .....

Ah well ....

An update re P-510 Soloven, from Ionian-Cruises (who also operate ex-RN Ham Class IMS Sandringham as Sotirakis);

I WOULD LIKE TO INFORM YOU THAT THE PRESENT NAME OF THE BOAT IS ANTIGONI AND THE ORIGINAL NAME WAS P510 SOLOVEN(SEA LION). ALSO THE PRESENT NAME OF THE SISTER BOAT IS CHRISTINA AND THE ORIGINAL NAME OF THIS BOAT WAS P511 SORIDDEREN(SEA RIDER). BOTH OF THEM REBUILD AT CORFU-GREECE IN THE YEAR OF 1996.

So, they have both of the Vosper-built Danish Braves.

Now we know about P-510, 511, 512, 513 and 514.

I am not entirely convinced Brave Seastallion is one of these, so maybe 515 too.

Update P515.

- Please update me on the current whereabouts of Danish Vosper Brave P515.

I am a former Danish owner of “Søulven” (Sold her in 97). I still have a few things I wish to pass on to the current owners.

Anyone?
Thank you.

Hello I have some information about P515 Søulven. It's current location is in Stockholm. She is currently in poor condition and seems deserted. I'm trying to get hold of the owner but have not succeeded yet. Does anyone have information on the owner history of P515 Søulven?

If I get hold of the owner, I am considering buying and restoring her. I am very interested in Soulven's history and owners, what has been done to her and so on. If you have any information then please feel free to email or call me on  +46(0)733 822 119 johan@moreau.it

Best regards,
Johan Moreau
