Hi,

Can anyone help with photos of the Thornycroft 73ft 9in MTB's 49-56.

I will be building a 1:24th scale model soon, I have two plans to work from but not much in the way of photo detail.

See my website for more details

Hi all!

Hope you all had a good Christmas Holiday!

Need a little help on this MTB.

Can anyone help with the large area at the back of the open bridge!
It sits between the torpedo tubes.

Does any know how high this is off the deck level?
I have two plans to work from, but they dont show how high this area is off the deck if it is ment to be!

Just to keep you upto date I hve made good progress with the fittings for this model, see my website.

If you can send me your photos of your model, I would be most grateful!

thank you in advance

Christopher

Hi Guys

Thanks for your kind comments!

Yes I to thinks she looks good so far! Although she is a MTB from WW2, I have tried to build and market a model that is little see and mentioned in the Coastal Forces sence. I hope this model will generate some new interset in Coastal Forece Launches.

I am currently working on the new wheelhouse, so far I have most of the open bridge done as far as the main structure. New resin fittings will be made to ade the modeller and cut out most of the scratch building from wood/plasticard.

I will try to upload some new photos over the next few days.

Please any questions on this and any of my other models please get intouch with me via the website or telephone

Hello there.

I found this forum while checking the length of MTB 49, as I too am another builder of Vic Smeed's famous model. I started mine in 1984, got it to r/c as a working hull but ground to a halt on the torpedo mounts, as it wasn't clear from the plans how they looked. In 2019, looking for a new project, I found it safely tucked away in the loft, and with the aid of online references brought it to a successful conclusion!

Happy to post photos and more info if it would help anyone.
