C/T boats were not target boats. C/T means "Control and/or Towing [boat]", i.e. a boat that remotely controls a target (by radio), or tows a target.
ex-Dutch TM boats planned/used as C/T boats:
C/T 30 number not awarded. (Possibly this number was reserved for the Dutch MTB TM-31. Builder: Canadian Power Boat Co., Montreal Canada. This boat was shipped in 1944 from Curaçao, Dutch West Indies to the UK. TM-31 was first commissioned in the local flotilla ** at Holyhead (probably at HMS BEE, the Coastal Forces training base, where boats worked up). TM-31 was beached at Holyhead during a gale in the night of 1/2 September 1944 and was severely damaged. It is conceivable that the damaged boat was considered a good candidate for conversion into a C/T boat. Apparently, this was never done. The ultimate fate of TM-31 is unknown).
C/T 31 ex Dutch MTB TM-28. Builder: Canadian Power Boat Co., Montreal Canada. This boat was shipped in 1944 from Curaçao, Dutch West Indies to the UK. TM-28 was first commissioned in the local flotilla ** at Portsmouth (possibly at HMS HORNET, the Coastal Forces base at Gosport). Became Royal Navy vessel in October 1944 (= presumably commissioning date as C/T 31). Commanding officer: Temporary Lieutenant A.W. Worth, R.N.Z.N.V.R. Stationed at HMS HORNET, Gosport. Paid off February 1947. Sold by the Director of Small Craft Disposals (DSCD). ex C/T 31 in poor paint state, but still with twin amidships turrets was seen at Dover 23 September 1948. At low tide, the hull of ex C/T 31 was visible at Conyer Creek, Faversham, Kent in the mid-1990s, but it was demolished between 1998 & 2000.
C/T 32 ex Dutch MTB TM-29. Builder: Canadian Power Boat Co., Montreal Canada. This boat was shipped in 1944 from Curaçao, Dutch West Indies to the UK. TM-29 was first commissioned in the local flotilla ** at Holyhead (probably at HMS BEE, the Coastal Forces training base, where boats worked up). Became Royal Navy vessel in February 1945 (= presumably commissioning date as C/T 32). Commanding officer: Lieutenant J.W. Patterson, R.N.V.R. Stationed at HMS BEE, Holyhead. Paid off July 1946. Sold by the Director of Small Craft Disposals (DSCD). Disposition unknown.
