Hello all.

I know this is slightly out of the remit of this forum E.G not a military vessel.

I appreciate that its also very cheeky of me to ask for assistance on someone else’s forum but giving the nature of the vessels I do hope it wont be a major problem and you have my apology in advance.

But I need some help. In fact im desperate.

The Princess Royal is a lifeboat that was delivered to Hartlepool in 1939. She was the first of the new RNLI vessels to be delivered at the start of the war.

She assisted in the rescue of the first spitfire pilot shot down during the war.

Flt Lt Ryder had just shot down an enemy Heinkel 111 in an action that resulted in him taking damage to his engine and so forcing him to ditch. During her career she saved a total of 122 lives and was awarded a RNLI gold medal and other awards for bravery.

The princess royal has just finished her restoration and is about to earn her keep doing tourists trips, however she has just had an unfortunate incident which resulted in her damaging one of her gearboxes.

So she is now out of service until its fixed. Cash is tight and we can’t seem to find a replacement box or affordable solution.

Can any of you guys help?

We need a parsons HR4 3.5 :1 reduction box. (as fitted to ford 6 cylinder barracuda diesel)

Any help or donations or leads we can follow up would be gratefully accepted.

Cheers.
