an acquaintance on another forum has been asking questions about the Fire Floats that the RAF had.

Has anyone any info on them? i believe there were only 2 ever built, no's 93 & 94. were they converted ST's ? where were they stationed?

any gen gratefully received and passed on

Wooden RAF Fire Floats. 
 
Seaplane Tender conversions, various builders (with differences between Mk. Nos.);
Fire Float, 37.5ft MkI (Meadows main engines).(x37) Aux. Coventry Climax. Pumping rate 500gpm.
Fire Float, 37.5ft, MkII (Perkins main engines)(x3 only, FT37,43&44 ex ST296,297&299).Aux. as above.
Fire Float, 38ft, Mk. I (x4 only; FT66,72,77&78. Ex ST318,335,350&353).1 x 20gal foam tank.
Fire Float, 38ft, Mk. IA (x4 only;FT65,66,69&70.Ex ST314,319,329&330).With JAP type 2A aux.2 x 50gal foam tanks.
Fire Float, 38ft Misc (x3; FT900,901&92((not 902))ex;Unknown,MCA23&22) 
Fire Float, 40ft, Mk. I (x8).(no aux. 1 x 20 gal foam tank). 
Fire Float, 40ft, Mk. IA (x19).(with JAP type 2A aux., 2x 50gal foam tanks).
Fire Float, 41.5ft Mk.IA (x2 only, FF87 ex-ST1615  and FF88 ex-ST1634) with Godwin Coventry Climax. 500 gpm pumping rate.  
Purpose-built, by Vosper;
Fire Float, 46ft, Mk. 2. (x2 only, FT93 and 94).
