Hi again,
Seem to be posting a lot, last one, was in Hythe as per post eleswhere re Medusa, spoke with fellow Lock-Keeper at Hythe Marina who mentioned the re use of the Hythe base, spoke of 100 ton boat lift capacity! so perhaps some of the super yachts may be destined there, but hopefull room for BMPT? I know mentioned in October newsletter and these things take time of course...also curious what is happening to the old VT site? I believe tender Calshot is moored there, no room there I guess for BMPT? then again, base at Hythe would be nice given BPB co history.

| Johnk, from the days when nobody would touch former "Industrial sites" with a barge pole now under the Governments "brownfield housing initative" they are building housing on any bit of land no matter what it's former use especially if it is alongside water and I suspect the former V.T. site will go the same way that's why I personally did not hold much hope for the former Poole proposal with land being so expensive in that area. How much per metre/foot is it to keep a boat in the marina where you are? &n bsp; RBDG |

johnk as a Post Script to the above, you keep on posting if people like yourself/pioneer/ christian stop contributing on a regular basis this forum would be dead in the water. It's all about getting info and debating various matters concerning the Trust/ boats as well as more info through new member's contributions. Keep 'em coming johnk. |

Many thanks the above, well, can't say in public re costs we don't publish the annual price, you call up the marina and they quote you for your vessel!.... but agree riverside is most likely to go to highest bidder, not much room for likes of BMPT unfortunatley, where Medusa is will go they tell me to developement once they have finished. Clive, if you own a waterside property these days depending on planning regs it could be worth a fortune Johnk read about your problems in the paper, barking, all most people visiting an old steam job want to see is the engineroom with plenty of steam and the bottom ends thrashing about with possibly "lexan" clear panels in the paddle boxes if that is allowed, I presume the paddle blades feather johnk, I don't know of anyone who's hobby it is to count RIVETS  getting back to the land issue, Developers never seem to learn we now have 20year old housing estates that were built on the old gasworks sites were the children can't play in the garden because it is contaminated. It would be great to get into Hythe although I understand that there is housing on the "Secret Shop" of the old the old B.M.P.T. site. & nbsp; & nbsp;

Hi Ron, Glad you spotted the coverage in the papers, great boost to the project but as you say we are a little up against it re rivets! indeed our paddle wheels do feather, quite a device! Johnk |
