Hello All,

Does anybody know the ID numbers of the British MTB's (or their Flotilla's) that where lost with the Canadian 29th Flotilla in the disaterous Ostend fire at the end of the war?

Many thanks,

Stormvogel

Boats lost were

459, 461, 462, 465, 466 of the Canadian 29th Flotilla.

438, 444, of the 3rd Flotilla

791, 798, 511, 512 of the 52nd Flotilla.

776 of the 63rd Flotilla

780 of the 64th Flotilla

with 255 an independent boat.

Making 14 boats destroyed.

There were several boats damaged.

771 was damaged beyond economical repair (and was later to be a Sea Cadet TS).

32 boats in total were moored up in close vicinity with some at sea.

Hi there,

Indeed, what prompt "service"! in relation to above of course to 486 the last survivor at Southampton, the Canadian Coastal Forces Trust under Lt Nicholas Armstrong were trying to secure her for Canada, not heard anything of late, hope she is still there and afloat, a liveaboard, so hopefully still cared for.
