 Hi Boaty_granny.
What was your connection to this one?
The figures i got quoted to save her were silly as told it would cost half to fix old ml535(western lady). Experience has taught me that official guestimates & real world salvage costs can vary wildly. Oh for the chance to fix her with current knowledge & no public liability premium!! Guess the broads authority where too dumb to realise what she'd be worth in the end & summarised her destruction.
Hopefully i can live on a warboat but as they say... a boat owns you

hi jimmy

What was your connection to this one?

i was just cruising and took the picture.

far to many special boats have been lost, such a shame.

Jill
If you go to advanced search and type Golden Galleon (and set to "Any Date") you will see 26 results, mostly dealing with her demise.

Hi there,

Great shot of Golden Galleon for which many thanks, very sad, albeit I believe talking to a local contact, she had a few underlying problems found whilst breaking, but still at least afloat and a very sad loss.

Hi Jill!
Only being in my mid 30's i never had any connection until she was condemmed. Shame is that for a take if you can fix it warboat she was fairly original & afloat. A lot of work as JohnK says but only available "B" at mo needs more work at 8k & is an empty hull.
If anyone has a spare fairmile then post it.
