Build Your Own Motor Torpedo Boat

Bought for the sum of just £1 it was the dream to bring a piece of British Naval Maritime history back to life as well as stand as an ode to the men and women of Coastal Forces.

From initial planning to restoration, reconstruction, replacement armaments and sea trials, this one hour long documentary charters Paul Child's two year project as he sacrificed everything to reconstruct the last 1950's motor torpedo boat of its class, P1041 HMS Gay Archer.

As the boat slowly takes form Coastal Forces veterans tell of their adventures on board such vessels. This documentary is both educational and entertaining as we follow Paul's journey to turn his dream into reality.

Dur: 60 mins

DVD copies 9.99 UKP inc P&P

Cheques to be made payable to FRIENDS OF HMS ARCHER

Hi there,

Great to see this opportunity to visit, regret working that day, but hope a great success, any news on a possible mover mentioned before to Bristol,

Although such a move came very close to occuring, such a prospect is currently distant.  Once new engine and 2 reconditioned gearboxes are added we will be endulging in many high speed jollys on the severn. We hope to offer trips aboard!

Nice to hear the Old Girl is still afloat, I remember her layed-up with her sister "Gay Archer" in the 60's.

Oops, "Gay Archer" should have read as "Gay Bowman", sorry for the typo.

Hi there,

Trust the open day went well, very glad to read that you managed to get a grant towards the engines from the National Historic Ships, well done, albeit grants small better than nothing of course.
