Hello to everyone on here, i was in the merchant navy myself, serving aboard the 'Texaco Norway' for six months, which was an absolute nightmare, then i was lucky enough to get a good company Denholm Maclay, now Denmac i believe. My time in the merchant navy was the best time of my life without doubt, i wish i had stayed in for longer than i did but Margaret Thatcher came to power just as i joined and it went down hill for quite a few years (taxation charges and striking etc.)
My father was in the merchant navy for most of his life, Ian Saull-Hunt. If anyone knows him and would like to get in touch please contact me and i will forward your details. He has just finished work on the 'Hyperions' sister ship, 'Humorist' and it is now up for sale. Is it still possible to advertise boats on here for sale? I would be grateful for any info if anyone has the time.
Thanks,
Sean

Perhaps off topic but I was sparkie on Texaco Norway too; joined her in Labuan in 1979 then refit in Singapore (towed there!) and the to Gulf and Marseilles.  Poor old thing was a bit of a wreck.
back on topic, medusa making good progress and is virtually complete externally.  Engine room also well on the way too.

Hi Alan,

That's great news on the Medusa, going to be great to see her again of course, still working to get that table done, but our chaps on MQ tied up with our new bridge at the moment, but have not forgotten, please bear with us.
