Hi there,

Well, hm, not really unless you were a registered charity and could demonstrate it was worth it to some grant giving body I guess, can see what you are driving at but RASC Humber is in pretty origional condition, 34 pictured is a little altered but not so much, could be said yours serves very well as a houseboat....of course you could do with it what you like with your own time and money! ships and boats apart from a couple, have know legal protection.

The "keel" was fitted to many of these craft as the props both turn the same way and the keel/fin was fitted to improve directional control. Usually added in their civilian life. Not needed these days with hydraulic "run both ways" gearboxes and handed props.

simple, when you are in a position to trade, we will give you Garth (34) and you will give us the beautiful Cabin Cruiser,  John Cook, Coastal Motorboat Heritage Trust.

As far as grants are concerned you stand a good chance of getting some funding from the Historic Ships Register once you have been registered for 6months. You do not need to be a registered charity but obviously it is favoured. I have just been awarded some funding towards new engines for the Avon

Hi Richard,

Well done on your grant for the engines, at least something from National Historic Ships, a few crumbs to our historic ships, for how long we don't know with the current situation, but at least it helps you, as you say, I would encourage those on the register to at least apply, and those not, well perhaps you might get something if they are around in six months.
