Dear All,

I am a new member and this my first post.  I am attempting to discover something of the boats and bases during the War of 545721 Sgt. Edward Ernest Ware, RAF MB & ASR (1937-59).  I have his Certificate of Service, and his medals - 1939-45 & Africa Stars, Defence & War Medals, RAF LS&GC (EIIR/Sgt., RAF, mounted as worn), plus an ASR shoulder badge. So far, I know Ware was born on July 18, 1919, and died in Dorset County in October 1999, age 80.  Trades:  Mate, Mate (FMR), F2E, Fit. Mar. Marine Fitter.

The Certificate only gives an explantory description of duties for January 1951-November 1959, when Ware was a Marine Fitter.  The document also lists two Good Conduct Badges and the above-mentioned medals.  The Africa Star would seem to indicate service at Gibraltar and/or Malta.

In 2008, I tried to uncover information through the ASR & MCS Club and RAF Museum London, but no joy.  As I am not related to Ware, or know any of his descendants, I cannot obtain his service record from official sources.

 Glenn
