Just read in Ship's Monthly that the above was sunk by vandals and although salvaged will be scrapped, same article though talked about the restoration of HDML Medusa, good news bad news touch.

Hello John,

This is terrible news. I was on her a few years ago in Gibraltar and she was absolutely gorgeous & well looked after.  Was she damaged when they lifted her?

I searched for the article online but found nothing.

It's such a shame. I know it's not likely & I can't afford to take her on by myself but if anyone else fancies it, and it's not too late, I'd be happy to join up & contribute.....
Regards
Don

This happens often but we cannot all get moving quickly enough, how about we set up a fighting fund, that we can all contribute to and /or commit to fund if needed. This could be set up to have charitable status and hence be tax free, any thoughts anybody?

Hi Andy, A good idea.  I wonder if  Gibel Tarik is still salvagable.   Does any know how to contact Mr Klaas Spaans to see if we can be of any help.

Hi Christian and all,

Great to hear from you, hoped you might be onto this, can't really read the web-site I just saw the Ship's Monthly piece and had contact ex Alan Watson of the HDML Medusa Trust, if members care to, Alan can be contacted via thier web-site on the links page of this site, he had a picture of her post salvage and OK only a pic, but hull seems to have suffered a lot but of course I am no expert and looks can decieve of course, and I do hope she is and will be OK, hope of interest,

Hi John,
I've emailed the site twice ( & found a Youtube  video  & left a message there) but no joy.
Was there any contact details in the Magazine article. Here, in deepest darkest Norfolk I can't find a copy of Ship's Monthly!

Cheers

Don

Hi Don,

Ah, yes I to have e-mailed them but had no response, no there were no contact details in the mag sorry to say, not much point in getting the mag if that is what you want, but statement of the b.... obvious I think you can get one via online... as mentioned, if you get in touch with Alan Watson at HDML Medusa...

Hi Christian,

That's great and to hear from you again, be great if Michael would post albeit entirely up to him of course, lots or a few at least, interested people herewith and be great to see her up and running on the continent, plenty of good advice from this end if wanted, Medusa of course, and Newsons yard with MTB 102, I know the Dutch do know about boatbuilding for sure, many thanks,

If anyone catches the buggers who did this to the old girl i have an idea.
Send them out to sea with little training on a boat considered disposable. Then get someone to hit & run them with spandau's & 88's. If they still feel like big men after what original crews saw then fairplay. Glad she's safe now, sorry the little b*****ds didnt drown on her!
