A first post from a "newbie" so pse. forgive unwitting breaches of form or etiquette.

I'm looking for any information on HSL 175 - Air Sea Rescue - in which my late father served during WWII. (Pic attached)

In particular, an incident in which the vessel might have been hit or overturned in action. But anything else very welcome, too.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

At Algiers in early 1943, from Sailors In The RAF by K Beardow.

She had been commandeered by the RN for covert ops and for several weeks she ran cloak and dagger missions into forward areas with a mixed RN and RAF crew.

Re-designated Fisheries Protection Vessel 9 during that time.

She was one of five transferred to the Italian Air Force at the end of April 1947.
