Hello.
I`m a BRIT now living in the states and wish to build a HIGGINS MTB as used by the RN, hull # 419-423, mainly insterested in wepons and deck equipment lay out-were UK Vickers .500 used in place of .50 US M-2 MG`s. A poor quality photo of MTB 422 I saw it looked like the MG turrets had been removed and a spray shield built aroun the back of the chart room and a 20 MM installed with a 40 MM on the stern.
Any help you can give me will be greatly appericated.

Buck I have a couple of photos of mtb 422 you could have, these where taken I think around 1944 Northern Italy at Leghorn, I`ve also got a picture of an American Higgins boat PT 303 so you can compare. These pics are from a collection I have from my Late great uncle who served on Vosper boat MTB 232 let me know if you want them sending to you

Thank you for your offer, the only photos I have of the HIGGINS MTB`s are of such poor quality that it is hard to see any detail. Where are you located, I am in Ca. US.

| Hi Keith, I`m located in Market Rasen in the UK the pictures I have are of Higgins boats in Italy they are not fantastic and they may have been published already as I gave them to a site, but I have the origionals which I`ve tried to clean up very carefully, I`ve since found out the boat my great uncle served on was not in the Med but in Felixstowe it was a Vosper pennant no. 232 British built, I`ve attached the relevant prints hope they are of some help as I`m sure 422 has the American .50cals in the bath tubs, by the way the torpedo load I think may be on the American built Vosper 376 Sorry Keith trying to upload pics so you get a better quality but no chance on this site, if we can send by e-mail would be better |

Hello 'speet' from Oz,
I too would like to have the piccies you mention of MTBs 422 and 232 to aid with any future models I might do of these boats. I'm doing 1/144th scale 'little ships' converting from card kits, but as things progress they will most likely be resin models as are most of the deck fittings are now anyway.
