Hi there,

Saw a few days ago that Canada have re-namned thier armned forces back to origional names, now the Royal Canadian Navy, Royal Canadian Airforce and Canadian Army, bit behind last years 100 years of the now again RCN......was in Ostend a few weeks ago and saw the memorial to the 10th flotilla which was lost in the harbour following an explosion, pity the effort to save the last surivior by the Canadian coastal forces trust has died, did e-mail and even wrote a letter but to no response, appreciate quite an effort to get back to Canada of course, not sure of the number now, but was a houseboat at Southampton....there was an effort to restore the Q105 but not sure how that is going, not much on the net,

John,
Good to see, as it was the then Minister of Defence who changed the system all those years ago...no relative of mine, but named Hellyer.
I will see what is happening at the Canadian boat, havent been there for a long time, as 102 and 81 keeping me busy..!
Richard.

Hi John/all. Know she is currently called Sungo. Pretty sure she's former MTB 486. Last i heard she had loving owners but they were on about taking on a steel barge if Canada wanted her back for posterity.

A boat is a hole in the water surrounded by wood, into which one throws money

Hi there,

Ah yes, Sungo and 486, heard that it was as you say a housboat, it would take quite a tow to get to Canada! presume would be easier to lift on board like the S32 perhaps, main thing is she is still cared for of course, be great to get her back to Canada but as mentioned, the group as far as I can see, is now defunct,
