I've had a communication from a potential owner for PT3 in New Jersey, who intends  restoration if he can acquire her.

He is looking for information and especially of her correct interior layout.

If you can help I can put you in touch via my website http://www.mprints.co.uk/ - by using 'Fill in my form'

The following is part of his email:

PT-3 evidently had many private owners since 1945. The Last One had it on the Delaware River where it broke loose and impaled itself on three pilings and went through several high tides which covered the boat. He had it towed to where it is now over 12 years ago.

The engines at some time were replaced with two Cummings diesels, now frozen solid.

My Plan is to have the boat transferred to my Home which sits on 3 acres, build a barn over it and remove everything that was added over the years. Most of the planking is OK but there are a lot that must be replaced. I have the tools and wood working knowledge to do the project. I was thinking of removing all the outer planking to make sure the inner planks are OK then cover the inside planks with Canvas with glue then replace the outer. There are three interior partitions that are missing. That's why I was looking for an interior layout.

Hi there,

Very interesting, apart from best wishes not a lot to add! seems like the chap has a good idea of what he is getting into, perhaps others on the site will be able to offer more practical support,

I put the information about PT3 discovery and proposed refurbishment on the forum in the hope someone either side of the pond may be able to help the guy with some internal layout plans.
Dave.

Best of British luck on the restoration! Was surprised to learn that we have more working ww2 boats than America as the confederate airforce can put up more planes than most civilised countries.

A boat is a hole in the water surrounded by wood, into which one throws money
