Clive - you need to get those into S32...

A pair of them came out of a museum a year or so ago, I enquired about them but they are far to big for my boats.

How much are they up for? There's a saveable C left and at least three decent B's out there. With the switchable gearboxes from an MTB you could back them up with smaller diesels and save money when not posing. When did the last coastal forces boat have Hall-Scotts removed?? Cheaper and smaller power unit than mast and sails on a trafalgar boat to fit but fuel bill may be a little offputting and insuring a 40's original with thousands of gallons of avgas on board would be an experience in beaurocracy to be sure. Mind you if Eidelon was up for grabs and the engines where cheap it would be very interesting

Amen Clive! Its a beautiful idea though to have those motors when the harbour diesels don't cut it. If could afford the fuel i wouldn't like to maintain a boat under the strain & vibration of two 20+ litre monsters!!
How nice would it be to have a totally original warboat even if she only went out once a year

There's 3 from a pt boat on ebay US. Bout £3&1/2k a piece if memory right, try & find link. A good start for that dogboat replica i've heard about. worth looking at as they had clutch in auxiliary motors(more economy than stealth these days).
