Good Morning to all -

I am very much a 'land-lubber' and this is my first post on this forum...

Over a number of years now, I have been researching the wartime history of Falmouth, St Mawes and everything in between. In recent months, I have come across two RASC Companies based in the area. These are:

-  2nd Motorboat Company, RASC in St Mawes between 1940 & 1942

-  644 (Water Transport) Company, RASC in Falmouth (Date unknown)

Alongside these two units, I am also interested in the Home Guard 'River Fal Flotilla' that patrolled the river between Falmouth and Truro using locally requisitioned vessels.

Does anyone in this forum have any leads on this units ?  I have yet to search the files in the TNA but can not find any reference to the last two in the index...

Any help would be most welcome...

Roddy

Hi there,

Have nothing to offer I am afraid on this but most interesting, never thought twice that the Home Guard would operate a river patrol, but why not indeed, the enemy would come be sea certainly...many thanks,

Johnk
