Hi all from a new member to the forum.
My father in law owned a Fast Motor Boat in the 70`s,bought it direct from Chatham Dockyard where it was partly submerged and full of mud.
He owned it for about five years and done some restoration work in his spare time but eventually the boat yard fees got the better of him and about, say 1980, sold it to a guy in south wales.
I remember the boat having double diagonal planking because it got damaged when it was craned out at Chatham,i also remember it had a pair of Perkins m6 engines.
We have been clearing out old paperwork for my Father in law and we found the original reciept from the Ministry of Defence for Fast Motor Boat no.41410 and was wondering if anyone knows of the whereabouts of it now so that we could send the paper work to the owners.
Thanks for your patience.Smile

Hi Vincent,

Many thanks your last post there, I write this just over the wall from what is now Chatham Docks, see the boat was purchased few years before she closed down in 1984..., sorry I can't offer more, hope the vessel may still exist somewhere...

Many thanks for your reply johnk.
I forgot to mention the boat was 35 foot and after it was sold from Chatham Docks my father in law kept it at a boat yard in Poole [Hamworthy] where he worked on it for several years,it was from here that it went to Wales.
Many thanks for your reply and to all who have viewed.
