I am trying to complete a 55inch model but do not have any good images of the deck equipment or for that matter general info of how many were built, numbering etc.

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Recently - the 'bible' of Fairmile craft has been John Lambert and Al Ross's "Allied Coastal Forces of World War 2". Volume One gives a great 'potted' History of the company while the many drawings and photographs accompaning each Fairmile Mk should be what you require. The book has great pics of MGBs 312,321,322,324,326,328,330 and plans,detail pics and info aplenty.

The surviving boats are MGBs 321 Xoron and 325 Eidolon.

Thanks guyes your info. I eventually sourced a book in York and got it transferred to the reading rooms of the British Library in London. They are quite something but that is another story.

I was surprised that the design I was following had major differences from the standard. It was only when I looked at another book called Dog Boats which had a  single paragraph  on steam gun boats that I realised this was the direction I should be going. Only seven were built

though. Any ideas on information sources for this one? 

So my model is at the moment an amalgam of both. The paint scheme is wrong but it is supposed to be seen on the water rather than obscured as in the war.

Hope there are not too many purists at the exhibition.
