Hi, does anyone know what happened to the old rusty DUKW that used to sit in the yard behind the BMPT sheds ?

Hi,
Probably not the same one but I was in Dublin some months ago and saw a working DUKW driving down the quays in Dublin city center.

Details are at:   http://www.vikingsplashtours.com/

Hello 'PERCY'

The DUKW that you mention - the one behind the sheds - was scrapped and broken some time ago - the bmpt Secretary informs me that it was 'scrapped before his time''

Thanks for that, was it taken by a local scrapyard or actually broken up at the scene. Do we know which yard it went to if any ?.

Hello,

Regards DUCKW vehicles/vessels, excellent article in current old glory magazine, I mentioned this issue before under Gay Class forum, as it has also great piece on the Gay Archer, worth getting a copy, a couple of other maritme bits on PS Waverley and the New Zealand Paddler, though of course I know they are not military coastal craft!

I just found out that there is a DUKW doing Sea tours (April to Sept) in Hunstanton.  http://www.seatours.co.uk/pages/tour3.html

Damn, I've been to Hunstanton loads of times and never knew about this.

Cheers
