Hi All, Sadly my Granddad passed away a couple of weeks ago John "Peter" Bowerfield, he served during WWII on the launches. I have sent a lot of emails out trying to find as much as i can about his time in service as he was always very reluctant to talk to much about it until fairly recently. I thought that he had mentioned that he had worked on 101 and 102 but have found that 102 is now a fairly well known boat and that she has a great history. I am shortly going to pick up some pictures of 101 and 102 that were taken all those years ago by my Grandad but now wonder if he was working on another launch in the same area. He has always played down his role often stating that the crew of their launch mainly sat about having fun and just waiting often being beat to downed planes by the flying boats. Id be very interested to talk with anyone who also served around this time or knows any history.

If you have any old photo's of 102 there are a lot of people on this site that are very interested and if you have your Grandad's Service Record all the better. Welcome to the Forum
