Hi there,
Indeed spotted this littele while back, great shots of the WREN mechancics at work, almost by the by, on channel 4 showing women on the canals during WW2, manning the barges which of course up to the mid 60's, carried cargo, those times essesnstial raw materials and finished munitions. Badge they had was National Service and IW for inland waterways, but called Idle Women! not of coure by long chalk hard hard graft, Johnk

The post commemoration of International Woman's Day has been removed from the Veterans website and replaced with a commemoration recognising World Poetry Day
The poem displayed was written by a former member of a clandestine flotilla (15th MGB Flotilla), and manages to convey the high drama and tensions of those times. Edited by Pioneer - 21 March 2015 at 9:25am |

Hi there,
Just read the poem and commend all colleagues to do so if I may, captures the mood perfectly of course, the phrases, greased row locks to prevent squeaking an example, many thanks, Johnk |
