Hi I am looking for information and/or photos of MTB 294. I know it was made at the end of the war for Russia but never sent there. Insteed Howard Hughes got it then Universal Studios had it and made the McHales's Navy show, then to a Hal Crozer for a fishing boat. My son started an RC model of the PT 73 from McHale's Navy. Unforcturly he passed away before he completed it. I am going to try to complete it however I need some of the tech info., deck material, deck layout, ordnance. I have spent a lot of hours looking for information on the net. I world appreciate any information or help I can get.

Hi
I think you may have confused MTB 294 (a Herreshof built Vosper MTB which served in the Royal Indian Navy) for PT 694 which was a sister vessel built by Annapolis yacht yard.
From rcgroups website;
PT-694; Universal owned this boat and used it for the 2 movies and the TV series. Prior to Universal PT-694 (AKA PT-73 which was really a Higgins PT) was owned and or used by Howard Hughes to film the Spruce Goose the day it flew. It was the only type of boat around that could go fast enough and was large enough to carry the film crew.
PT-694 (and PT-695) were built for the lend lease program by Annapolis Yacht Yard Inc. of Annapolis, Md., in 1945 and they were slated to go to Russia but the war ended and they went to surplus.
