Wow, I only recently found Google-earth etc and note the references to Ash Island. I spent a lot of time trying to find out about the ex MGB/MTBs said to be moored at and around Ash Island with less success than Google indicates. My main interest is MGB 84 said to have been at Ash Island from the early 1950's until the 1980's. The mention of Ash Island in the context of ex MGB's/MTB's is very interesting.

No new finds here or at least I dont think so. The long boat on the left is I believe a Fairmile C and the long one on the right with the snub nose should be a Fairmile H.

Both boats are located at Bembridge on the Isle of White.

Here is another one.

I have placed a red dot over what I believe is S130 partially undercover at Mashams Yard at Torpoint opposite Plymouth.

A boat is a hole in the water surrounded by wood, into which one throws money

Google Earth is fun!!

Agree though that sometimes it doesn't work- can't see my parents house.... can see our boat :)

Big white boat on 'bottom' wall of harbour- next to her is blue boat and the next one is our pinnace with our friends yacht moored alongside. Picture taken around July '06 so not too out of date!

No, what I believe to be a HSL from looking at pictures is in Limassol. I can't be too sure of it's exact location though- and the picture isn't quite clear enough for me to figure it out!

Boat on the end is/was a Russian designed and built day cruise boat. Sadly sank on its way to Limassol for scrapping- hey! new dive site!

Okay.... it should be somewhere in this picture!

Co-ordinates are as follows

34 deg 39'52.44" N / 33 deg 01'46.12" E

Limassol, Cyprus- an area known as Billy's Yard but not sign-posted or anything. It's between the old port and the New Port...

Hubby can't find picture either. I might have to go to Limassol for the day to take some other photos of it!

Pictures and info from Ron Young. ex RAF 2625 was confiscated after being caught running contraband.

She was a 68ft British Power Boat Co Type 2 HSL, a.k.a. a "Hants & Dorset".
