Hi,
She seems to be a seaplane tender all right. I'd love to know her length,  what she's like internally and what engines are fitted.

Cheers

The Balloch boat is quite close to where I live and from memory...
it is a 35' BPBCo boat, (but I could wrong and would need to check) which I think was a civil seaplane tender or launch. A few years ago the owner set about to 'improve' the after cabin arrangement and it has never gone back on the water.
Prior to that it was out on Loch Lomond quite often.

BTW there is also a 41'6" at the Norther end of the loch but that is underway in a slow refit for private loch cruising.

Best regards
Andy

Hi Andy

The Marina owner is keen to be rid of her,but the law will save her for the time being.

Yes the rear cabin was started ,but not finished, she was in the clyde before moving to the Loch, did one season on the Loch about 10 years ago before lifted out.

Hope to Talk to the former owner this week (He was on holiday)He is Called Jim Lynch, works for Campbells Comercials in Heather Ave Alexandria....Jim did a lot of work on her and sailed her in the Clyde.Jim's boys could ski off the back of her when she was running.

Jim has offered to help break her up for the running gear and engines, pity to see her broken up.

Where is the Tender at the North of the Loch would love to know?

Regards Jim.

Hi Jim/Andy,
I was told that she sank quite a few years ago and hasn't moved since.  Yard owner said she was  pretty far gone.
The hull seems (from the photos) sound but with gaping holes in the deck, fresh water damage is certain.

I agree, it would be an awful shame to see her broken up.  Again, it's all down to ownership.  Do you know what the situation in Scottish law is?

Depending  on that, a simplwe hull survey  would be the best way forward.  I'd love to know if she was civil or military.

Perhaps the (previous) owner Jim has  some photos of her around that could help.

Hi Sentley,

Many thanks your response, interested in this seaplane tender, is it in Kent? I think the one at the boatyard down here is still about, so would be interested if its the same one, afloat but empty, some rumour about engines but not sure.

John
